Very tasty pancakes 🙂 We baked them for several times. Once when I had no milk I pour cream with water in equal parts, and the taste was fantastic. This time accidentaly I put more sugar, but the taste was also good – we ate all pancakes without any sauces 🙂

Just very tasty pancakes

Ingredients:
1 cup = 240 ml

  • 1 cup (140 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons (28 grams) granulated white sugar
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 2 tablespoons (28 grams) unsalted butter, melted
  • Plus extra melted butter for greasing the pan

Directions:

  • In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  • In a separate bowl whisk together the egg, milk, and melted butter.
  • Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, all at once, and stir or whisk just until combined. The batter should have some small lumps. Make sure you do not over mix the batter or the pancakes will be tough.
  • Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium high heat until a few sprinkles of water dropped on the pan or griddle splatter.
  • Using a pastry brush, brush the pan with a little melted butter.
  • Pour about 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the pan, spacing the pancakes a few inches from each other.
  • When the bottoms of the pancakes are brown and bubbles start to appear on the top surfaces of the pancakes (2-3 minutes), turn over. Cook until lightly browned (about 1-2 minutes).
  • Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Sausainiai su varškės sūriu

Cookies with cottage cheese

Once great grandparents brought from the farmer market home made cottage cheese for there beloved grandchildren. But the cheese wasn’t so delicious as everyone wanted so for a long time it sat quietly in the corner of a fridge and waited. But the day has come when this cheese was used for unsweetened cookies, that tasted something between cookies and baked cottage pancakes. Everyone was happy – children, because they got tasty snack, cottage cheese – because at last he was useful, and parents – that didn’t throw away spend money.

Bulvių duona

Potato bread

At last I found bread that my hubby really enjoyed eating it 🙂 Yeah… For long time I baked only bread without the crust. But now I have big hopes that we will make a break with it and start baking this potato bread. By the way, the taste of this bread is slightly similar to “švilpikai” 🙂

Obuoliniai sausainiai su razinomis

Apple butter cookies with rasins

These cookies are universal 🙂 I baked them several times. And one time, when I found out that we don’t have nor apple butter, nor raisins, nor nuts, I improvised and cookies we make with plum jam and poppy seeds. They turned out grate too 🙂 So I decided that these cookies are perfect when I have some jam leftovers. By the way, I used unsweetened apple jam, so if you use sweet one, then I suggest to add 50 ml less sugar.

Duonos lazdelės su paprika ir sezamu

Bread sticks with paprika and sesame

Very good snack. Kids came from the kinder-garden and ate only these sticks till none was left. I had to hide some for photo session. I baked them already two times. The first time I rolled sticks in sesame seeds, but the next day I had joy cleaning all house with vacuum-cleaner from the seeds 🙂 The next time I put sesame seeds inside the dough and it was more practical and the taste didn’t differ very much.

Vyšnių tortas

Cherry cake

Before baking this case, I couldn’t decide – it’s a cake or a pie. But when I baked it no questions were left – it’s really a cake and the good one. Crispy top, tender egg while layer and sour cherries makes very good combination. But if you are afraid of sour cherries, you can use preserved cherries. The next time egg white layer I will make smaller or will use bigger cake form (now I used 24cm). I know, the photos are horrible, but I had to do some photos in a rush, because I try to bake less sweets and the next time this cake will be baked after long time.
