Kids’ cookies

Last weekend we baked kid’s cookies. And it was really fun 🙂 I’m happy that I found these butter cookie dough. You don’t have to chill it – just mix all ingredients and you can play. Of course it has one nuance – you can’t roll it and cut with cookie forms. You make cookies by making small balls and sticks. And if you just fantasize – you can make flowers, butterflies, turtles, worms or anything you can imagine.

Kids’ cookies

Time needed:
Yields: 6 servings
Calories: 239 kcal / serving

Ingredients:
1 cup = 237 ml

  • 110 g butter, softened
  • 1 tsp. vanilla sugar
  • 1/4 cup icing sugar
  • 1 1/8 cups flour
  • pinch salt

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Mix all ingredients in blender. Pour crumbs of dough in the bowl and knead till it become elastic.
  • Cut small chunk of the dough and form desired cookies from balls and sticks.
  • Bake about 15-18 minutes, till the edges of the cookies will be slightly brown.
  • Let cool on the baking tray.
  • Then you can decorate cookies. Just if you gonna decorate them, I suggest decrease the amount of sugar in the cookies.
  • Enjoy!

Duonos lazdelės su paprika ir sezamu

Bread sticks with paprika and sesame

Very good snack. Kids came from the kinder-garden and ate only these sticks till none was left. I had to hide some for photo session. I baked them already two times. The first time I rolled sticks in sesame seeds, but the next day I had joy cleaning all house with vacuum-cleaner from the seeds 🙂 The next time I put sesame seeds inside the dough and it was more practical and the taste didn’t differ very much.

Norvegiški avižiniai krekeriai pagal Forellę

Norvegian oat crackers

Crunchy crackers with just a little bit sweetness. My kids liked them. Next time I will try to make them without sugar but with a little bit more salt. I think it will be perfect with soma dips.

Virtiniai iš plikytos tešlos

Dumplings with scalded dough

It’s super easy but super good! I couldn”t imagine that I will like it so much. Before I tried this dough, dumplings at my house was really a guest. But now I prepare them with meat, curd or other chosen filling. My family likes it. I saw that Skanus gyvenimas prepared very similar dumpling dough but with eggs. I didn”t tried it yet, but sure it should taste even more better. But anyway, the recipe below gives very plastic, not sticking, unshrinkable dough. It”s a little bit like plasteline 🙂 And I just love it.

Pie with chanterelles

When I got some chanterelles, I decided to bake this year something new. And because I know how convenient to take non-sweet pies for lunch at work, I chose this recipe. Only in original recipe says to use more salt then I usually need, so I give here already corrected recipe.

Sodos duona

Soda bread

Somehow I forget to set my breadmaker to bake the bread or remember only very late in the evening. If there was no bread the next day my hubby would be starving 🙂 So I had to do something. And have to say that hubby very liked the bread with cheese.
