Strawberry Milk

This drink now is number one for my kids! When I ask do they want strawberry milk, every time they start to jump shouting “YES! YES! YES!”, and then drinking adds “Tastiness!” 🙂 So this is how small efforts give big joy for kids. And this is really simple just strawberry syrup with milk. But very effective! Really 🙂

Strawberry Milk

Time needed:
Yields: 4 servings
Calories: 197 kcal / serving

Ingredients:
1 cup = 237 ml

  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 cup milk

Directions:

  • In a small pot, heat strawberries, sugar and water until boiling. Let boil for about 10 minutes. Mixture will reduce and thicken slightly.
  • Using a fine sieve strain the mixture into a small bowl. You can save the cooked strawberries to add to yoghurt or put on pancakes. Set the strawberry syrup aside.
  • Add 3/4 cup milk to each glass. Swirl in 3 tablespoons of the strawberry syrup into each glass of milk (more or less, depending on desired sweetness).
  • If you will get more syrup than you need for strawberry milk, you can use it on pancakes or ice cream, or just repeat strawberry milk.
  • Enjoy!

These ice creams are very creamy, with a mild taste of honey and peach. Just we all agreed that next time I will puree all peaches, because those that I chopped became like little ice cristals and were very very cold ? And in the photo you can see what conditions I have almost all the time photographing my creations 😀

This is the best ice cream that I have ever made – this is what said my hubby. But I prepare ice cream rarely, so maybe he just doesn’t remember other ice cream taste 🙂 Anyway, these ice cream is very delicious because of mild sourness of rhubarbs and strawberries gives very nice pink colour.

Crepes stuffed with broccoli and cheese

I’m very excited when the recipe which I chose to prepare is admitted 110 percents. I wanted to make these crepes all week long, but all week I had no time to spend in the kitchen. And only this weekend the time has come 🙂 I’m very glad that I made only half portion because if there were more than four crepes I couldn’t stop eating. The filling is so light, with the gentle taste of broccoli and very nice taste of cheese. My hubby said he wasn’t hungry but ate one crepe and was very excited 🙂 The next time I will not make our usual crepes with cheese filling, but give a little bit more time and make these crepes.

Crunchy crackers with just a little bit sweetness. My kids liked them. Next time I will try to make them without sugar but with a little bit more salt. I think it will be perfect with soma dips.

Somehow I baked pancakes long time ago. So came the time when I started to miss them. And I guess my all family miss them too, because these polenta pancakes disappeared very quickly. If you don’t have polenta or lazy to grind corn groats, you can use corn flour. You just have to use more milk.
