Chocolate banana shake

One more healthy recipe that I found in books about healthy living. It’s without diary products – that was one good point for me. Another thing – it’s with flaxseed. I’m trying to use them more in our daily family diet. So I almost ran to the kitchen and mixed it. I really recommend to let soak flaxseed meal in water for a few minutes, or your shake will be with hard small parts. But if you will be patient – shake will be very thick and creamy.

Chocolate banana shake

Time needed:
Yields: 1 big serving
Calories: 252 kcal / 1 serving

Ingredients:
1 cup = 237 ml

  • 1 big or 2 small bananas
  • 2 tbsps. flaxseed meal
  • 1-2 tbsps. cocoa powder (we like to use only 1 tbsp.)
  • 1 tbsp. syrup, sugar or other sweetener, or 1-2 pitted dates
  • 1 cup water

Directions:

  • Pour water over flaxseed meal and wait for a few minutes.
  • Then add all other ingredients and mix with blender.
  • You can drink right away or put in a fridge. It will keep there for two days. Enjoy!

Bananų-duonos pudingas

Banana bread pudding

On the weekends we like to watch TV show “I can cook”. In other words we record it and watch when we like 🙂 One day I decided that it’s enough just to watch this showing, we need to take some action and prepare something. So we chose this banana-bread pudding. The next weekend I bought all needed products and measured everything. Then I invited kids to the kitchen to do everything what was needed to prepare pudding. And we really had a very good time 🙂 There were some troubles for kids, but I just reacted calmly and the mood of everyone was saved 🙂 Even dad said that this dessert is very good. We agreed that if we had some ice cream it would be even better, but even by itself it was very good 🙂

Chocolate peanut butter smoothie

When I want something sweet but healthy at the same time – I blend smoothies. My kids adore them 🙂 Maybe that’s why all the time I keep a few frozen bananas in the fridge.

Oatmeal with banana and nuts

This morning was cloudy so it was a good time to cook this oatmeal. My kids don”t like simple oatmeal (or I just think that I still didn”t learn to cook it tasty), so I decided to make a little bit sweet but still healty version. Banana gives mild sweetness and nuts adds some crunchy texture. In the original recipe walnuts are used, but we don”t like them so I changed them to hazelnuts. At the end my little one asked next time not to add nuts at all. So decide by yourself to use or not to use nuts in your oatmeal.

Chocolate spread

This spread I found accidentally. But the simplicity was intriguing and I gave a try. Even my hubby, who doesn’t like cocoa, agreed that it’s very good. So almost all last week at school my girl ate sandwiches with this cream and peanut butter. And today I had to prepare this spread again, because it was very good with a freshly baked bread for me too 🙂

Raw banana and peanut butter smoothie

When I saw this recipe, I knew – I will do it because I had all ingredients by the hand, even almond milk. And I can say that this is more dessert than smoothie, because it’s very dense. It was perfect for my hubby, who hates cow milk, and this smoothie he liked very very much. I think you can try cow milk instead of almond, but it won’t be raw 😉
