Maybe when you take a look at the recipe you think that it is ordinary yeasted buns. And you will be wright 🙂 We just liked that they are not too sweet, and the shape of buns look pretty. These buns are popular in our family. I also tried to make rabbit shape buns for children but understood that here I need to practise a lot 🙂

Buns Maize with yeast

Time needed:
Yields: 15 buns

Ingredients:

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g milk or water
  • 20 g fresh yeast
  • 2 eggs (1 for the dough, 1 for brushing)
  • 50 g sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 5 g salt
  • lemon or orange peel or vanilla

Directions:

  • First of all sift the flour and set aside.
  • Then warm up the fluid, break the egg, put salt, sugar and mix till sugar dissolves.
  • Pour the fresh yeast mixed with some sugar.
  • Then mix in the flour.
  • At the end of kneading pour warm fats and seasonings. Stop kneading when the sides of the bowl are clean.
  • Smooth out the surface of dough, coat with some fats or pour over some flour, cover with clean towel and let rise.
  • When the dough has risen, devide it to 15 even balls.
  • Every ball roll out to 60cm long roll and devide in half. Cross the rolls and braid.
  • Put buns on the baking tray lined with baking paper and let rise.
  • Then coat with an egg and bake in 230-250°C for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Enjoy!

Minkštas obuolių pyragas

Tender apple cake

I still have apples and they are shouting that I have to make something from them before I have to throw them away. I chose this recipe because I had some vanilla sauce and in the recipe it was suggested to eat it with ice creams. Children like the cake even without the sauce.

Marmurinis šokoladainis su moliūgu

Swirl Pumpkin Brownies

Yes, I still have pumpkin puree 🙂 And this time it’s not so healthy but very chocolate brownie. It’s really easy, just I baked 10 minutes more. The next time, I will bake only 5 minutes more. And also, when I baked it second time I used less sugar, and my big girl tasted that. My hubby also agreed that brownie second time was not so good as the first time. So the third time I won’t change anything – these proportions are really perfect!

Picos keksiukai

Pizza muffins

When me and my hubby for dinner want only salads, I know that my kids won’t aprove it. So I bake for them these pizza muffins and we eat them with the salads 🙂 They are very easy and quick, I think even a kid can bake them. The only thing I can say – I don’t know how they taste when completely cooled down or on the next day – we eat them warm and all at once.

Polentos blyneliai

Polenta pancakes

Somehow I baked pancakes long time ago. So came the time when I started to miss them. And I guess my all family miss them too, because these polenta pancakes disappeared very quickly. If you don’t have polenta or lazy to grind corn groats, you can use corn flour. You just have to use more milk.

Avižiniai kokosiniai sausainiai

Oatmeal coconut cookies

Magic cookies – they always disappear the first day you bake them. I know that Forelle has cookies alike, just even better – with nuts. But now I”m ok without nuts 🙂
