One day I had a strong feeling that I just have to bake something for my co-workers. So I told my hubby that he has to look after our children till they get asleep and went to the kitchen. We tasted this coffee cake the next day. And it tasted very good, so until lunch the coffee cake was gone.

Cherry coffee cake with cinnamon

Time needed:
Yields: 12 servings
Calories: 189 kcal / serving

Ingredients:
1 cup = 237 ml

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tbsps. milk
  • 100 g butter, melted
  • 200-350 g cherry pitted (or for one layer)
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tbsps. sugar
  • 25 g butter, cold

Directions:

  • Mix flour, sugar and cinnamon.
  • Pour milk, melted butter, beat an egg and mix again.
  • Pour the dough to the greased 24cm diameter baking form.
  • Put cherries on top and press a little bit.
  • Ingredients for the topping put in the blender and make crumbles.
  • Spread evenly over cake. Bake about half an hour in 175°C preheated oven.
  • Enjoy!
