Ice cream without eggs

So, let’s go? No, not to the vacations, but to normal track back. After a long break we are moving further with new posts in this blog. I really wanted to change the blog view, but I did not expect that it will take so long. If you take a look to old posts, you could see some mess there, but little by little I’m taking care of it and at the end everything will be all right.

This hot day I give you ice cream. All agreed that they really good and they taste almost like store bought. And store bought we recently eat a lot because Dadu ice cream store is near and there ice creams are cheaper then in supermarkets.

What I love about these ice creams – they do not contain eggs, so after all I don’t have to worry where to use egg whites. Starch does not turn melting ice cream into water. However, we did not like the taste of milk powder, so this time we did not use it at all and we were all very satisfied.

Yields: 4 servings
Calories: 458 kcal / 1 serving

Ingredients:

  • 300 ml milk 3,2%
  • 250 g whipping cream 35%
  • 35 g milk powder (we don’t use)
  • 90 g sugar
  • 10 g corn starch
  • 2 tsp. vanilla sugar

Directions:

  • In a pot mix sugar, vanilla sugar, milk powder and 250 ml milk.
  • Leftover milk (50 ml) mix with starch.
  • Boil milk mixture in a pot. Then slowly add milk with starch and boil mixing while it will thickens.
  • Take the pot out of heat and let cool to room temperature. Then add it to the refrigerator. Milk mixture and cream have to be cold!
  • Beat cream till light peaks. Then carefully mix it with milk mixture.
  • Pour ice cream mixture to the ice cream machine and freeze for 30 minutes. If you don’t have ice cream machine, just put it in a freezer and mix with mixer every 15 minutes.
  • Devide ice cream in to cups and put in a freezer for a few hours.
  • Enjoy!

Tortas su karamelizuotais bananais

Cake with the caramelized bananas

This year my little boy turned 4! And this is his cake. I spend a lot of time looking for the right cake. The choice was good! Maybe a little bit cream was fat, but it was tasty. Also I drizzled sponge with cherry compote. For 6 people the cake was too big, so leftovers I freezed and now I can enjoy it with the afternoon coffee 🙂

Tiesiog skanūs blynai

Just very tasty pancakes

Autorius: Aušra Data: 2009-07-28 Very tasty pancakes 🙂 We baked them for several times. Once when I had no milk I pour cream with water in equal parts, and the taste was fantastic. This time …

Lietinių suktinukai su maltos mėsos įdaru

Crepes rolls with minced meat

Loved from the first bite 🙂 Especially liked it my hubby – he’s the spicy food lover. For the children I didn’t even let them to taste 🙂 Not because of jealousy, just they still love mild tastes.

Minkštas obuolių pyragas

Tender apple cake

I still have apples and they are shouting that I have to make something from them before I have to throw them away. I chose this recipe because I had some vanilla sauce and in the recipe it was suggested to eat it with ice creams. Children like the cake even without the sauce.

Tortas "Citrininis Drugelis"

Cake Lemon Butterfly

I chose this cake because it was with lemon, so had to be refreshing, and it was in butterfly shape – it had to fit for my daughter’s birthday, because she love every creature that is alive 🙂 And I was wright! The cake was very good! I baked only half portion, but it was really enough for 6-8 people. Only next time I would bake only 2/3 of sponge, because we like when cake is almost all of cream and sponge is a very thin layer. But you should decide by yourself.
