Don’t know why but I want to eat fish. So once in a week a prepare from it something. This time it was tuna pie with tomatoes. And believe me – tomatoes are a must in here. They give freshness, that we liked a lot. We had very delicious dinner, and the next day lunch.
Tuna pie with tomatoes
Time needed:
Yields: 8 servings
Calories: 300 kcal / serving
Ingredients:
- For the crust:
- 75 g butter, room temperature
- 120 g wheat flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsps. cold water
- For the filling:
- 1 medium onion
- some oil for frying
- chopped greens (basil, turmeric or others)
- 1 can tuna (not in oil)
- 150-200 g cheese, grated
- 3 eggs
- 100 ml milk or cream
- 2 medium tomatoes
- salt
- peppers
Directions:
- Mix butter with flour, salt, water and knead. Spread the dough in a 24-26cm diameter baking form (bottom and sides), coated with butter.
- Chop onion and fry in a pan. Then distribute it on a pie crust. On top add tuna chunks, greens and sprinkle with cheese.
- In a bowl beat eggs and milk. Season with salt and peppers. Pour mixture over the pie and lay tomato slices on top.
- Bake in a preheated to 200°C oven about 25 minutes. Enjoy!
